As an artist who has been focused on working with vulvas, during the Magic Lantern project I decided to draw landscapes and include the patterns of the vulvas into the landscapes. My work is inspired by the feminine body, specifically the intimate parts of it. The vulvas in landscapes is inspired by the idea of nature being our mother, and since the vulva and the vagina play a role in reproduction it makes the concept more interesting. Including the vulvas into a nature-based environment was a means to recontextualize the vulva, moving it from its usual position and attempting to give a new meaning to it or rather letting the viewer decide whether to give it a new meaning or not.
